FluoroSafety courses now approved for Risk Management CME credit!
The mission of FluoroSafety and its CME program is to produce high quality educational activities that increase the knowledge, competence, and performance of physicians and other healthcare professionals who use medical imaging. FluoroSafety teaches the physical and biological principles of medical imaging and their applications to the diagnosis and treatment of disease, enabling healthcare professionals to more safely and effectively use medical imaging technology.
Considering that FluoroSafety is the premiere provider of educational content on the safe and effective use of medical imaging, and given the extensive experience of our founders in medical malpractice cases related to patient injury occurring during medical imaging, securing Risk Management CME credit for our courses was a natural step in our evolution.
Risk Management CME from FluoroSafety includes instruction in medical malpractice prevention, including risk identification, patient safety, and prevention of medical errors. Aside from missed diagnoses, the most common events leading to medical malpractice suits from medical imaging are skin injuries during fluoroscopically-guided procedures, patient injury or death during MRI, and patient injury or death resulting from contrast reactions. The epidemiology of injury from these risks, including risk identification, and management of these risk to prevent medical errors are a focus of the educational programs offered by FluoroSafety.
FluoroSafety courses are proven effective to reduce patient dose during fluoroscopic procedures, a key aspect of patient safety in fluoroscopy.
